My mother bought me this when she found out I was pregnant. I had a little girl who just loves this toy. When she was a newborn it would soothe her to sleep and now my daughter is a music fanatic. She just loves to listen to music. We will bring this little seahorse with us everywhere. ESPECIALLY when we go on vacation or overnight trips. It is her little piece of home that she needs to stay comfortable in her portable crib. And it has saved us in the car for longer than usual trips. She is 10 months now and she still loves it. Unlike some baby toys this one has kept her interest and I have to be honest, most toys when they play music will drive parents up one wall and down another. This toy however, plays the most beautiful music and it is very soothing. So be careful or her nap time might mean your nap time and you won't get anything done. Not to mention that it is durable and has just the cutest face. Great buy.

Our 20-month old had started throwing big tantrums at bedtime--it was taking us an hour to get him to go to sleep-- and in one night the seahorse made them stop. Now he sees the belly light up, smiles, hugs it, and falls asleep immediately. It is amazing! I wish we had the seahorse for the last round of teething/separation anxiety. He quickly learned how to turn the seahorse on and off. I cannot praise this toy enough!!

This is an awsome toy, my son got it for his first christmas, when he was 8 months old, he is now 17 months, and still listins to it every night while he falls asleep! he loves it, its soothing, and not too loud. deffinatly worth buying, even if the baby is/is not fussy at bedtime, is just soothing for them. i will deffinatly buy the next baby one!

Purchased for my 5 mos old grandson, he loves it and holds it in his arm when going to sleep. The music is soft and not irritating and plays for several minutes at a time. We love it.

this won't do a lick of good. The music is wonderful and when my son is in the mood, he'll lay there and listen to it. But, I have to admit that my son hasn't learned to self-soothe and that as soon as he can't see me anymore, he starts to cry, whether he was enjoying the music of not.
My two year old nephew LOVED it, and was constantly stealing it. He co-sleeps with his parents and this actually helped him start sleeping on his own--plus at his age, he can start the music again when it stops or stop it when he doesn't want to listen anymore.
The velcro back closure doesn't stay closed and it's annoying to have to open it everytime you want to adjust the volume.
Anyway, for less than $15.00 it definitely not completely useless, but I didn't find it to be the miracle everyone else seems to have. But, again, it could be that my little one is not sleep trained yet and if he was, it may be more effective. We'll see!
