I now can't count how many times I have given this system as a gift or recommended it to a friend. My boys started working with it when they were eight and ten and still do not tire of it. It's great for those long winter afternoons and I don't even have to sturggle to get them away from TV or video games to play with this. They get to build, see things move and fly and make noise all the while learning.

This kit is very well made especially considering its made in China (I wish it werent but.... The instruction book is very well put together by someone who knows the art of technical writing (very few of those folks around anymore). The different projects are interesting & provide a great way to learn some basic electronics skill, also the companies website has extra projects and more technical info. on it - they also sell parts, etc. [...] click on the "snap circuits" button lower left. We will be buying the upgrade kit soon as we have built almost all of the 100+ designs in this set:-)

Sent this to my distant grand daughter for her ninth birthday. I didn't know what to get; so I just found something educational and interesting-looking. Maybe she'll become a scientist? I don't know; I rarely see her.
Phone call. "Awesome, Grandpa Tom! Awesome!" Her mother tells me this was no exaggeration and she loves it. Hope I can guess this way more often 'cause usually I take hints from her Mom, my daughter. It's really more fun taking chances.

My 8 year old daughter loves this. She can do the things by herself, then we talk about it and make changes to see what happens. It's a great hook for talking about how electrical things work.

I ordered this for my son (almost six years old) and he loves it. The directions are simple enough that he can do the projects on his own. I did the first dozen or so with him, but after that he didn't need my help. I'll probably get the bigger sets for him when he's older.
This toy is educational, though I think at his age most of "why this works" is over his head.
The kit is very user-friendly and seems durable. The projects are somewhat repetitive. 100 projects are in the book but really there are just many variations on the theme. Even so, this is a great starter kit. It says ages 8 and up, but my five year-old handled it well. If your child is older, I would perhaps recommend a larger kit with more projects.
