 "Big hit" 2009-11-01
By Marcia L. Roth (Louisville, KY)
All I know is that my 3 year old granddaughter loves it. Her other grandmother gave her a roll of quarters for her present to accompany it. What am I doing wrong?

Anyway, she loves it and plays with it all the time according to her parents.

This was a gift for our niece and we've heard nothing but nice things about it. It's fun and educational all in one.

"2 BROKEN AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE" 2009-09-10
By AWM (Boston, MA)
I normally don't write reviews, but felt I had to with this one. We bought this cash register for my 3 year old nephew a few years ago, and he and my daughter, who is 2 years younger, loved to play with it (incidentally, his is still working#. So, we finally bought one for my daughter for her 3rd birthday. The first one came out of the box broken. The Open key did not work, and we couldn't get the drawer open. So, we sent it back to Amazon and they replaced it fairly quickly #it was within the 30 day return window#. This was back in November. Well, about a month ago #after 8 months or so of use, the cash register just stopped working. Swapped the batteries out and pressed the reset button (which was not where the book said it would be - next to the scanner - it was on the bottom of the machine), and still nothing. I called Amazon to try to get another one - mind you, my 3rd cash register - and they said it was beyond the 30 day return policy and I would have to call corporate. Well, I have called customer service now 5 times, since mid-August. 1st three times, they said they'd send a message to "Corporate" and someone would call back. Not one call back. The fourth time, I finally got a supervisor involved who then gave me a contact over at Corporate. This contact said she'd look into the contract they have with Amazon and call me back. That was on Sept. 2nd, and still no call back. So, yes this toy is a lot of fun and educational, but only if it works. And, if it breaks, good luck trying to get a replacement after 30 days, unless you have idle time to be wasting making phone calls to Learning Resources. Terrible, terrible customer service. Feel like this is my only recourse at this point - to let people know about my bad experience.

 "loud but fun" 2009-07-22

my son loves it, it doesn't have a volume control so that's the reason I gave it four stars only. Other than that, fun way to teach kids about money.

We love the educational values of this cash register. It has really helped our daughter learn about the different coins. She always wants to play shopping. Great toy.
