My son got this as his birthday gift this August. After put 10+ ants into the container, the next morning they were all gone. And it because the cover does seal completely. I tried it myself and watched the ants easily came out of the container. Now three months later, our house has the ant party everyday!! Terrible toy! so far I spent several times more money than what the toy costed.

Cool, but needs adult set up help. If it's not done correctly the product will not be as cool. And you can't fix it or start over again.

It is so cool! Definitely worth the money for anyone of any age... you can stare at it for hours.. I ordered ants about 6 days after I bought it so I would get them about the same time. I suggest you get it from another company. [...] It's only 4.95 no shipping. Don't put them in the freezer! haha

I bought this ant farm for my nephew on his 4th birthday. He loved getting the ants in the mail and, after putting them in, they immediately started tunneling. He enjoys using the magnifying glass to observe the ants as they work. Very cool and educational gift!

This is a fascinating product and my two young kids loved watching the tunnels grow and grow. The only caveat is that you get 2-3 months of enjoyment and that is it. I had high hopes that it could be re-used, but that is not really the case. After all the original ants have died, you must clean them out and some of the gel is lost as well. You are then left with a complete tunnel system. You CAN put new ants in, but they re-use existing tunnels, and it was watching the tunnel construction that captured the attention of the kids.
This product is very well built and the idea so clever that it is a shame there isn't a way to get more than 2-3 months of entertainment and learning.
