 "A classic!" 2009-12-17
By G. Everts (Eugene, OR USA)
I purchased this for my children thirty-some years ago, and now have purchased for my granddaughter. My kids remember this as being one of their favorite toys. It still sounds the same, the only difference being: there is an extra page of sounds now. Great toy, would recommend!

 "Daughter loves it!" 2009-11-17
By Amy S. Mcfarland (California)
My daughter loves this toy! I like that it has two pages with more animals to see - it stretches the fun per toy for car rides. Some of the noises are weird (rabbit = boing boing) but really, what else is a rabbit going to say? I also like the song and quiz functions.

 "Love this toy!" 2009-10-26
By R. Howard (Utah)
My daughter received this for her first birthday and just loves it. She is not one to just sit in a lap but when my husband gets home from work, she goes and picks it up and brings it to him so they can sit in the chair and play farmer says. She loves to point at the animals and thinks the music is great. No problems pulling the lever (also great fun). The toy has been dropped many a time and my daughter also thinks it is great fun to stand on it, No problems to speak of.

This is a fun toy; however it is VERY VERY loud. We put scotch tape over the speaker and that worked well.

Buy Cheap Fisher-Price Imaginext Adventures Pirate Ship [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging]

Fisher-Price and Amazon.com have teamed up to offer this item in Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging, a recyclable, easy-to-open alternative to traditional packaging. A Frustration-Free Package comes without excess packaging materials such as hard plastic "clamshell" casings, plastic bindings, and wire ties. It’s designed to be opened without the use of a box cutter or knife and will protect your product just as well as traditional packaging during shipping. The new packaging eliminates 5 pieces of packaging, including 792 square inches of paper, 29 square inches of PVC plastic, and 30 inches of twist ties. This item ships in its own box, without the need for an additional shipping box.
Adventures on the high seas abound with the Fisher Price Imaginext Adventures Pirate Ship. Designed for children ages three and older, the pirate ship comes complete with its own pirates, treasure, and more -- ready to sail where your child's imagination takes it!

Plenty of Imaginative Action
The pirates have plenty to do, thanks to special "action points" all over the ship. Your child can simply place a pirate on one of the ship's five special areas, turn the figure, and watch the action! The pirates can lower the ship's sails, drop the anchor, and fire the three hidden cannons. Two pirates can even fight a duel, and the captain can extend the plank for some unlucky soul to walk.

Built Tough for Adventurous Journeys
Like all Fisher Price toys, the Adventures Pirate Ship is built tough, with larger pieces that are easier and safer for little hands to manipulate. It includes three pirates with interchangeable hats and swords, a treasure map, treasure chest filled with treasure, and a cannon that really works. Additional accessories are sold separately. Your child will have hours of fun entering an imaginary world of adventure. However, pirates should use this ship on an imaginary sea only -- it's not built for use in real water. The pirate ship measures about 19 by 7.5 by 18.5 inches. It does not require any batteries.

What's in the Box

I purchased this for my grandson's 4th birthday and he loves it so much he is putting all the pieces together before bedtime to have it ready for play the next day. He especially loves shooting the cannons and working the sails. We also sent it in the frustration free packaging that my daughter said worked out well.

"It was the hit of the party!" 2009-11-10
By B. Campbell (Bonney Lake, WA)
I purchased this for my nephew's 3rd birthday. He has a fascination with pirates right now & this was a perfect gift.

He opened it and he was instantly fascinated (as was his 1 year old sister). There are some small parts but my niece has never been one to put toys in her mouth. It was almost hard for him to play with since all the adult boys at the party were just as fascinated playing with it.

It's a durable piece and I really like so many of the toys in the Imaginext line. (He also has the Dragon castle, Royal coach, and several dinosaurs, and dragons). These toys keep him engaged and his imagination comes out to play every time!

 "Fun walker stinky rider" 2009-12-08
By JEB (Colorado)
Both my kids loved pushing this around when learning to walk and after they were walking independently. My 2 yr. old still takes her babies for a ride on it now and then. As for a ride on toy, both my kids had trouble using it that way. There's something about the design that makes it hard for the child to push themselves around. So if you can just think of it as a walker it is a great product: cute music and character. But as a rider we thought it stunk.

"Great for building confident walkers" 2009-11-18
By Lea M. Remigio (Orlando, FL)
Our 10 month old son loves this push lion! He pushes it around in the driveway at home. It is a lot smaller and easier to maneuver than the walker someone gave to us. In the few weeks he has had it, his balance and confidence has improved a lot. He is even getting the hang of turning corners with it. It was a little pricey, but worth it. The seat lowers down for when he gets bigger and can start using it as a riding toy instead. The small size also fits better in our house than the walker did.

 "Big Hit!" 2009-10-26
By Stacey (San Diego, Ca)
My daughter received this for her 1st Birthday and it was instantly her favorite toy! As soon as we put it together she pulled herself up and was off and running! She couldn't get enough of pushing him all over the house, and after having it for awhile it is still number one for her. She loves to walk around it and push the nose and dance, too cute!

Some people have remarked that it was too short for their babies. My daughter is in the 65% percentile for height at one and it is perfect for her.

We are looking forward to the day when she can ride and hold onto his ears, hopefully she doesn't try it on the dog as well!

"Cute at first, creepy later" 2009-11-23
By Lynnerz76 (Rochester, NY)
When I first got my nephew this dog when he was 9 months old, he loved it! However, he lost interest after a month or so. Now, my nephew is 18 months old and the dog sits in his toybin. His parents find it creepy because it randomly talks without being touched. Kids find it cute, but it scares the crap out of adults.

 "Keep looking" 2009-11-20
By SarasotaSarah (Sarasota, FL)
Although this toy is cute in appearance, it has many drawbacks. We actually received 2 for our daughter last Christmas. One never worked properly. The one we kept is ultra sensitive as another review states. If you barely touch any part, it will switch songs or features mid-song. Even our daughter looks at us as if to ask what's wrong with the toy. It also seems possessed as the toy goes off on its own often even when shut off. In the middle of the night it can be heard saying "blue ear". This is one of those toys as a parent that you wish were never in your house. The concept is great, but find another toy that has less glitches.

 "Creepy toy" 2009-11-06
By T. D. Evans (Pensacola, FL)
My daughter got this toy for her first birthday. She's only played with it a few times because it doesn't keep her attention. The sensors in the paws are sooo sensitive that she would be playing with it while it was singing to her and then she'd bump a paw and it would start doing something else. Too many abrupt changes would leave her unsatisfied with the toy. I say this toy is creepy because it goes off in the middle of the night and has scared me to death. Waking up to hearing "PEEKABOO, I see you!" is not fun. It goes off all the time when no one is touching it. I've had to turn it off and keep it off. If you want to get this toy for a kid whose parents you'd like to scare, then I highly suggest it.

 "Sensitive Buttons" 2009-10-19
By Rodrigo McCarthy (Miami, FL United States)
The buttons (press points) on these buttons are far too sensitive and as a consequence none of the songs/interactions have a chance to complete before the button is touched again. Not to mention that the toy goes off practically on its own when you put it away or just lay it down.

It could be a lot better.

 "Definite value!" 2009-10-27
By Rampriya (California)
I got this laugh and learn toy for my daughter when she was 8 months old. Since then and till now, she is enjoying playing with it. It has fixtures in it that is appealing to babies as well as toddlers...When she was an infant, she used to stare at the glowing colorful lights, and try tapping on it for music. These days, as a versatile toddler who needs music around her all the time, she just makes it play the songs and continues to browse her books!! I got this toy after quite some research and I dont regret it at all..be it educational value, musical value or all the more money value..!!!
