 "Fun for all ages" 2009-04-20
By Genell S. Baun (West Bend, WI)
When the kids and I play Nerf guns, the darts go flying everywhere, so extra ammo is essential to keep up with everyone. Comes with a handy mesh carrying case with a clip that will attach to your belt loop so your hands are free to aim for your target. The velcro darts tend to stick to the inside of the bag, but that's a minor annoyance for the amount of fun they bring. The name Nerf says it all!

These are a definite must-have. Buy plenty because you will need them. The darts can get easily lost when shooting them - so the more the better.

Buy the extra darts for a longer battle. The kids love it, older one included. It can get crazy as these darts fly fast and furious around the room. Girls and boys are equally as wild with the darts.

 "Not so interesting" 2009-04-11

This book is ok, if you like the Mermaid stories (I don't agree with the message of most disney princess stuff). This is probably my daughter's least favorite of her 5 Tag books. I think the others have more interesting story lines.

 "Very Durable" 2009-11-09

We got this to go with our tag system and it's great. It holds all the books we have and protects them and the pen from getting broken. Really great for in the car and travel also.

The case isn't bad and is certainly handy for storing, but we have outgrown it and wish that our headphones would fit in the case as well. It does seem durable and my 4 yr old son can open and close it on his own.LeapFrog® Tag Storage Case

 "Very sturdy Case" 2009-07-05
By Kat (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma United States)
This is a very sturdy case my son is hard on it. Drags it around every where, throws it in his toy box and so on. So it gets banged on and the books stay in place and the Tag is still intact. I am very glad I bought this with the Tag otherwise he would have probably lost it or destroyed it by now.

 "Good case" 2009-05-25

So far this has been a good case. We can put 5 books in it with his Tag pen. Sometimes it's a little hard to open but my 4-yr-old has it figured out.

"Neat, convenient storage for Tag reader and books" 2009-04-11
By Bookphile (USA)
I bought this case for my daughter once I got tired of looking at her books and reader scattered over her desk. She also likes to take her Tag with her sometimes when we're on the go and it was always difficult for her to try to juggle the reader and the books.

While you could purchase almost any plastic case to keep the books organized, the advantage to this one is the molded slot that holds the reader itself. Once the case is closed, the Tag is secure and I no longer worry about her dropped it on the pavement and breaking it. The case also holds several books neatly and it's very convenient for my daughter to have all of her Tag gear in one place. It also means that she can bring a greater variety of books along with her on trips and as she tends to get very involved in the stories and games, this is a lifesaver for me when I need to run a boring errand as I know she'll be well distracted.

My only real complaint about the case is that it doesn't accommodate the large boards such as the Super Speller. It would have been nice to have the option of carrying this as well and being able to store it would help ensure that the letters on the board don't fall off and get lost. Still, I'm glad that I bought this case rather than just any plastic case. I feel it was well-worth the money because it does protect the Tag. Replacing that would cost considerably more than paying for the case.

"Awesome educational tool THAT MY CHILDREN DON'T USE" 2009-09-03
By Fry Boy (Orlando, FL USA)
I swear, I blew $[...] on the Tag Reading System along with five or six books. I did this based on all the rave reviews here at amazon.com. This happened circa October 2008. It's now September 2009. The Tag Reading System has, over the past year, gotten very little attention from either of my children, now aged six and 4.5, approximately. It's been quite a disappointment.

The truth is, it's a great product. You upload a bunch of books onto the green-and-white pen. Then you take the pen and run it over each word in a book. The pen says each word. You then take the pen and put it on something in a picture, the pen makes a noise or one of the characters says something. Click a button and the pen will read the entire story to you. Great. Brilliant. Works well. Kudos to Leapfrog.

But neither one of my children gives a hoot about the Tag Reading System. Both of my children are bright, but all attempts to engage them with this product have failed. You cart out the stuff, nobody touches it. You try to use it with them, they would rather play something else with you.

If this product and the books that go with it were A LOT cheaper, I would wholeheartedly recommend it, but 50 big ones for the reader is a bit much to pay, particularly since the books go for 12 to 15 smackers each. I mean, if you get it and your child uses it great, but don't count on it.

Get your children a LeapFrog® Leapster® Learning Game System - Green instead. My kids use their Leapsters far more than they use the Tag Reading System. The Leapster games provide a nice mix of education and entertainment and are much more engaging than the Tag Reading System.

"Great if you kid loves to read!" 2009-09-02
By M. Horton-Gaskins (New Carrollton, MD)
My three year old loves this! Its great if your child wants to independently read. It makes them feel like a "big kid". So far, I have not had any connection problems from the tag to computer and I am hoping it stays like that. I bought two extra books with it (the one included isn't that good) and I love that they are hardcover. I think I am going to buy the Leapster2 now.

 "Love the TAG Pen!!" 2009-08-24
By E. Gariety
I bought the Tag pen for my daughter who is two. She always played with them in the store but I was not sure if she would actually use it at home. She loves this pen. She really likes to use it when we are driving in the car. She is content to read the books with her Tag pen on the road. Another feature I like about the pen is that it stores all the books in the pen, so you just press a button and the pen tells you the story. It is a really great purchase, you will love it and your kids will too!!!

"Great toy but had trouble installing on PC, successful on Mac" 2009-08-20
By Ana Delgado (South Gate, California)
I love the toy and my son spends a lot of time reading it. Installation was a pain on my PC. I kept getting a message that said cannot connect to internet. We tried and tried and could not get it to work. I then went to my Mac computer and installed it. Everything looked great but I did get one message saying there was an error during installation please drag the folder to trash. When I did it a second time it suddenly worked. I'm glad it did I was beginning to get hot over spending so much money for something I might not be able to use. If I didn't happen to have a PC and a Mac I don't know if I ever would have installed it. I hope the rest of you out there don't have the trouble I had.

I hope I can buy that orange pen that holds 20 books, without having to buy a class set of books. I will call and find out. Wish me luck.
