We got this set for our five-year-old son last christmas and he absolutely loves it. We have lots of fun building things together and using our imaginations. The only bad thing I can say about this set, is that you get very few legos and and a big box. I'm hoping that we can get another set to add to it and fill this box up.

This is a great starter set but I don't consider it to be "ultimate." Not a lot of pieces for the price. I purchased this for a 4 year old because I'd read that it was a great toy to keep kids busy and creative. I also did a lot of research on the building bases that are sold on Amazon, but I mistakenly thought that the building base plate *in this set* was 16" by 16" wide and not 16 by 16 studs which works out to about 3" by 3". Yes, it is mentioned in the product description but the only Legos I've seen prior to this were much larger, approximately 1"-2" wide. Just a heads up to anyone who isn't knowledgeable about toys: a decent size building base has to be purchased separately.

It's Legos! Everybody loves Legos. It doesnt break. It last forever. My 4 and 6 years old boys love them. I need to supervise those tiny pieces to make sure they put those tiny pieces back in the tub or they will be lost in the house! They lost two tiny pieces before and I found them about three or four days later in the washing machine after the laundry was done! (it was in their pocket or something, ha!)

I bought this for my 4 year old son for his birthday. He loves legos. This tote keeps everything together and in one place. I wish they offered a box with more legos in it. 400 seems like a lot but really we needed more. All of my children love building and using the legos for fun and math.

My son loves these blocks. He is 2 and 1/2. He loves to build tall things with them. Plus we like to go over colors and count with him when he plays with these blocks. I love Lego's and I am so glad that they are still around. Also Legos are not made in China, but in Poland (I believe, I would look at the box, but I can't get up right now). Which I think is great. I have noticed that Amazon had these priced a little high, but the price has gone down recently. Great toy!

This bucket of Legos/Duplos is great for starting out. We have slowly added to this collection. There are just so many things you can DO with Legos! Sort by color, and shape! Oh, and take apart and build! We build not only buildings, but cars, roads, bridges, and even pretend food (we have rectangular apples in our house) and they know not to eat them! If your kids are into a lot of building, or you have more than one child, then you may need to get another base plate to supplement this set. To qwell the demolition side of your kids, building towers and other structures and then crashing into them with various vehicles is also big entertainment. Additionally, this really helps children with fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, and even foundations for geometry concepts!



I do think this set is a little pricy on Amazon - we got ours as a gift that was purchased at Wal-Mart.

My son turned two the day we took a long flight. He played with the bricks for TWO HOURS on the plane. He loves, loves the bricks, both by themselves and with a few characters purchased as part of another set. The characters go a long way.



This is a nice little set with all of the basic bricks needed plus the fun of a small building plate and a person. We also bought a large building plate 15 X 15 which is great.
